Counselling that works with your brain, not against it

My counselling approach is warm, collaborative and grounded in the belief that you are the expert on your own experience. I trained in person-centred counselling and cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), and I work eclectically; drawing thoughtfully from different approaches according to your needs, preferences and circumstances, rather than expecting you to fit into one particular model.

I bring around 14 years of counselling experience, alongside a background in psychology, advocacy, health and social care, and supporting children, adults and families through complex situations. I am also trained in therapeutic work with children and have particular experience and understanding of neurodivergence, identity, anxiety, low mood, relationships, overwhelm and the emotional impact of navigating systems that do not always understand or accommodate difference.

I provide a confidential, accepting space where you can talk openly and explore what is happening for you without judgement, pressure or the expectation that you need to be “fixed”. We can take time to understand your experiences, recognise patterns, process difficult feelings and identify ways forward that feel realistic and meaningful to you.

My practice is neurodivergent-affirming, trauma-aware and LGBTQ+ inclusive. Sessions can be flexible and adapted to support different communication, sensory and processing needs. You do not need a formal diagnosis, the “right” words or a clear idea of where to begin - we can work that out together, at your pace.

What can I support you with?

❧ Autism, ADHD and late diagnosis

❧ Anxiety, low mood and emotional overwhelm

❧ Significant life changes

❧ Identity, self-esteem and masking

❧ Relationships, boundaries and family difficulties

❧ Trauma and difficult past experiences

❧ Burnout, stress and feeling stuck

❧ Parenting and caring responsibilities

❧ Navigating a world that may not fit your needs

How counselling works

Sessions are collaborative and led by what feels most important to you. We can talk, reflect, explore patterns and consider practical strategies. But there is no rigid programme or pressure to disclose more than feels comfortable.

Online sessions are available, offering flexible support from your own space.

Before beginning counselling, we can arrange a brief introductory conversation to discuss what you are looking for, any adjustments that would help and whether I am the right counsellor for you.

Counselling sessions are available online. Further information about availability, session arrangements and fees will be provided during your introductory conversation.
